I wanted to showcase a sample of a wedding album, just to show how important it is when you book a photographer, that he knows how to design one aesthetically correct. I consider the design of an album, a whole different art than that of the photography. Someone may be the best photographer, taking unique photos, but when it comes to an album design, he could totally ruin his work. In the contrary, someone can use mediocre photos in the album, in such a way, that he could possibly uplift his entire work.
I really pay attention, when it comes to album design, to every little detail. I like it to be as minimal as possible, to unfold the whole story of the most important day of a couple in such way, that it won’t be a tiring process. It’s a really hard job to decide which photos to exclude or include. I never let my couples decide and pick the photos of an album. It’s not their job to do that, they wouldn’t know. Plus, an album is my final product to the couple, and as such, I consider it my advertisement. What their friends and family will see as my work.
Below, I showcase an album of 54 layouts, 108 pages if you like that is, from a traditional wedding in Karpathos island. It’s an extreme example where I made a bet with myself, if it would be boring to the viewer. So far the feedback has been great.
Feel free to dm if viewing it made you feel otherwise. Hope you enjoy
